With the holidays upon us, it is safe to say sales of every kind will be higher. People tend to buy this time of the year for others and even for themselves. For that reason the malls and online sites see more traffic this one time of the year than any other holiday season.
As electronic cigarette sales are rising even without the holiday season around the corner, it should come as no surprise that this time of year is expected to be an all time high for sales of these devices. Whether buying as a gift or a “self-gift” the truth of the matter is these devices are quickly becoming not just an appropriate but desired gift. Many a wish list this year has e-cig kit on it.
As you probably realize, sales online and off are both high for these smokeless devices. So as the two biggest sales day of the year draw near, the question is which route will people be taking to make their purchase?
What’s It All About
Anyone who isn’t much of a shopper or has never worked retail may not be familiar with Black Friday, but more than likely you have at least seen the commercials each year. In fact, with each year the official start time for Black Friday seems to move earlier. It’s Cyber Monday that’s still a bit of a new concept, but it is one that is growing in popularity more and more each year.
Black Friday Shopping
Search for Black Friday and you will actually find quite a great deal of references in history of tragic events that became known by this name. However search for Black Friday shopping and you get something completely different. Traditionally this is the Friday following the Thanksgiving holiday and is known as the first big shopping day for the Christmas season.
The term seems to have originated sometime before 1961 in Philadelphia but didn’t take hold outside the City of Brotherly Love until sometime around 1975. This is when shoppers will find some of the best shopping deals of the year, and stores often open their doors as early as 6 am, if not earlier. In fact, this year is the first year stores are beginning to push the start of Black Friday back all the way as early as Midnight Thanksgiving into Friday or even as early as 6PM on Thanksgiving. For those who don’t mind crowds, potentially being trampled and waiting in the longest lines in retail history, shoppers can find unbeatable bargains.
The new emerging shopping holiday for online shoppers is called Cyber Monday. This takes place on the Monday following Thanksgiving weekend and the world of ecommerce sees some of the biggest sales this Monday. Although it is still relatively new, each year it gains popularity and is quickly becoming an expected event instead of an anticipated one.
Ideally this holiday helps shoppers avoid the early AM wakeup call as well as the traffic and madness. On the down side, the sales aren’t as deeply discounted and you still have to wait for your holiday purchases to be shipped.
Which One’s Better?
The bottom line is that it is a matter of preference. As far as smokeless devices go, it could also depend on what brand you are hoping to find. Although many stores now carry a wide variety, you may not find exactly what you want if you shop in person. Not only that but keep in mind that brick and mortar stores tend to run out of stock on items before websites do.
Here are a few things to keep in mind when making your choice:
- If you aren’t partial to a specific brand, then Black Friday may be your best bet.
- You will probably get better deals in person by shopping on Black Friday.
- If you already intend to be out shopping for Black Friday, it only makes sense to go ahead and look for a smokeless device that could be deeply discounted.
- Remember, if you don’t find the kind you want or the deal you hoped for while shopping on Black Friday, you can always use Cyber Monday as your back up plan.
- If you shop Cyber Monday, have a few retail or brand sites already bookmarked as favorites.
- Do some research ahead of time to make sure you can’t also find a discount code for more off or free shipping to add to your order.
- Have an understanding of the different types of kits available and what the regular price is. If you aren’t getting a deep enough discount, it may not be worth the hassle.
So whether you are shopping for yourself or as a gift for someone else, hopefully these tips will make your shopping decision making easier. What brand and kit you decide to buy is entirely up to you.
