Overall 4.5/5 – The Halo G6 starter kit did very well in our books. Though it may not be the overall winner of every ecig we tried it is pretty close to being in the top, if not one of the top 3. Not only did we enjoy many aspects of it, but we feel new users to the ecig market would probably be more than satisfied with this starter kit. You get what you need, and more importantly, you actually enjoy what you get.
The flavor and vapor volume should leave you satisfied and the battery life should help you get a good amount of uninterrupted use. Be sure to charge the battery as suggested in the manual and try to order a few extras you may need to take advantage of the free shipping on $75 orders. Otherwise, you should come to truly enjoy what you get when you order the Halo G6 starter kit. This is a fairly good choice whether you want trendy look and flavors, or a more classic look and flavors.
Presentation & Packaging 4.5/5 – As far as the look of the Halo G6 starter kit goes, it all depends on what you are looking for as far as design. If you are a tried and true classic cigarette fan, this one may not be for you. Honestly, even though we tend to like the classic and traditional look, the Halo still won us over. If you are going to stray from the norm and go for a sleeker and more fashionable or trendy look, this is the one to go with. While the packaging threw us just a bit and this is the reason the Halo G6 didn’t get a perfect 5, the rest of the look and design is very cool. The sleek flat metallic blue of the battery making up the electronic cigarette for the Halo G6 starter kit is quite unique looking, a definite conversation starter in public too. The LED tip also glows when you drag giving it the look and feel of a traditional cigarette even though the rest of the look obviously gives it away. You can also get the starter kit in a variety of colors aside from blue including but not limited to black, titanium, purple, red and green.
Flavor 4/5 – Depending on the starter kit you get, you can find a sampler pack (if you get the Halo Element ecig). However, when we ordered the G6 there was no sampler for flavors. That being said the flavor was rather full and robust yet somehow just a tad watered down. It was as if it had the potential to be a bit fuller, but had not yet reached its full potential. In fact, it almost seemed that if the battery were charged more or something – the flavor would be just a bit richer. This of course was not the case and the flavor continues to be lacking just a bit. However, it is by far not anywhere close to be as weak, light or lacking as many other ecig brands on the market.
Flavor Variety 4.5/5 – What Halo has gotten right is a good variety for those who like traditional tobacco flavors and those ecig users who like less traditional flavors. Mostly, you will find electronic cigarette companies that focus on either classic flavors or fun flavors. Halo had the great idea of trying to appeal to both kinds of electronic cigarette users. In fact, even though we aren’t generally fans of “fun” flavors, we made it a point to try several flavors, including classic and non-traditional. Captain Jack was a favorite, as well as Torque 56. There are just enough flavors to choose from and enjoy. While there are other manufacturers that have a bigger variety, this is plenty and the flavors are done well. It’s about quality not quantity.
Vapor Volume 4.5/5 – Another hit for Halo is the vapor volume. While it is not the fullest vapor volume we have had, it is awfully close. It gives just enough throat hit and comes close to the similar experience one might have from a drag of standard tobacco, yet is smoother. Luckily since the taste is also good, the vapor volume is a truly pleasing experience for anyone looking for a really good selection of electronic cigarettes. It’s hard to imagine anyone being disappointed with the amount and quality of vapor volume from the Halo G6, including the taste. The only problem is when the battery begins to run down, but this is pretty standard when it comes to electronic cigarettes.
Battery Life 4/5 – This also was one of the Halo ecig’s strong points. The only thing is you really should refer to the manual and charge as instructed. When we ordered ours, the representative we spoke to stressed this as well, so we made it a point to do so. We got the feeling users who are not charging correctly are sending theirs back only to find out the same type of battery problems may occur, unless you charge correctly. So, charge it overnight when you get it, use it once, recharge for a couple of hours and then use it as you would any other ecig. From there the battery life holds a long charge and works pretty well until it gets pretty close to being dead.
Value 4.5/5 – For the Halo G6, although you can find cheaper starter kits on the market, more than likely you will not like another at this price point better. You get a good basic set up for the starter kit plus you get a good quality product. Not to mention although we tried some that came in at a lower starting price point, mostly they were not nearly as flavorful or good all around. Plus, you should be careful of lower priced ecig starter kits, they are usually making up for the low price by charging a high rate of shipping which you often do not find out about until you are almost done placing your order.
Shipping 4/5 – The only way to get a perfect score for shipping in our book is to offer free shipping. Halo does, but only on orders of $75 or more. This is still quite reasonable, but plan on ordering other accessories or extra batteries or cartridges to get the deal The starter kit comes in well below the minimum amount for free shipping. So that is why it got a less than perfect score for shipping. Otherwise, there at least is a free shipping offer and the shipping was quick, although maybe it helped that we placed our order on the phone versus online.
